When browsing around YouTube do you find yourself watching YouTube channels of those who come from an Asian background than say a predominantly white person? If so, do you think it's because of your ethnic background as well? What are some of the channels you subscribe to and watch?

  1. Some of the channels that I subscribe to are justkidding films, kevjumba and wong fu. Most of the time its not the ethnicity of the person whos in the video but rather the title that catches my attention first. Generally ethnicity doesn't really have much of a role in choosing what videos I watch.

  3. I do find myself watching YouTube channels of people who come from an Asian background. I think that it's not because of their Asian identity, but more because of the content and messages of the videos, as well as the funny element in the videos. Ethnicity is not really a factor that I consider when choosing the videos I want to watch. However, I think that for some people, I do think that they watch these channels and subscribe to them because these channels are of those who come from the same ethnicity (Asian) as these people's. I've read comments that say they are proud of these Youtube-ers because they are Asians. Some channels that I subscribe to are Nigahiga, Kevjumba, Wongfu, david choi, aj rafael.

  4. Being of Asian Ethnicity i do tend to watch Youtube channels that is of Asian background. This is because i feel like i can relate and find it more humorus to watch videos that i can relate to. Ive noticed that i dont really watch videos of white ethnicity because i feel like i wont find any humor or interest in watching a video of a white guy. When im on youtube i like to watch basketball highlight of players or any sort of comedy such as Kat Williams or any other type of comedian.

  5. Because of my Asian ethnicity, I realized that I do tend to watch Youtube channels coming from Asian backgrounds. Although, I think it's more because these channels were coincidentally entertaining and I can somehow relate to them. I tend to watch a lot of WongFuProductions' videos.

  6. I don't think so. i find myself watching any videos that catch my attention. it doesn't matter the actor or the channel's owner, as long as it catches my attention, i will watch it. However, mostly yes i watch asian's channel because i found theirs more interesting. there are some other non-asian channel that i watch as well though.

  7. I am not a frequent youtube user, however I do watch a lot of videos with my friends. I never browse youtube myself, so I only watch the ones that my friends introduce to me. Those videos tend to not have Asian people in them, mostly Caucasian people. In turn, a majority of my friends are Caucasian. I do feel that the channels and videos people watch on youtube does reflect their ethnicity; perhaps because they can relate to videos better if they are made by a person of the same decent.

  8. I enjoy watching youtube videos of all racial backgrounds and the range is absolutely enormous. It doesn't all fall into some one category that is easily listed off. Most of it comes from whatever someone else has found funny and has linked me, so I just watch that. I don't think my ethnic background made much of a difference.

  9. The majority of youtube videos I watch are dance videos and 99.99% of the time, the dancers are of asian descent. The comedy videos I watch are made by white people though, like jenna marbles or epicmealtime. Occassionally I watch videos made by persian people, like the youtube video "Persian Dad" or the persian comedian Maz Jobrani, because I find their comedy relateable but most of the videos I watch star asian dancers.
