I guess so. not all of the values and cultures though. it's just different culture that i learn beside what my parents taught me. But as a whole, we hold mostly similar values and cultures
I think so to a certain extent, because I have been exposed to the Singaporean culture and the American culture, whereas my parents have only been exposed to the Indonesian Chinese culture. However, I think that the main culture influencing me is still my Chinese Indonesian culture. Thus, our opinions do not differ to a great extent.
Me and my parents kinda have the same values. Such thing as education, religion, and family bondings is pretty much the same. With my parents being immigrants from the Phillipines, they put emphasis on education and always show respect amongst everyone. Even though im considered a Filipino American, im still close to my filipino culture because thats what im accustomed to in my household.
We share a lot of the same beliefs and values such as religion, family and education. We are a very close family and can communicate well with each other when opinions differ.
